The Mad Max Sportswear Company was established in January 1999 as a firm focused on sportswear, accessories and other equipment for active people. Its main production programme concentrated on body building and fitness activities, i.e. an area in which we had been operating for a long time and which we were an active part of. Exercise equipment and accessories were simply an addition to our range. At the time it included three types of glove for fitness training, two types of belt and three kinds of glove for boxing. When we presented the first samples of gloves and belts to our friends, we were very pleasantly surprised by the positive response we received. Within a relatively short time, some of them convinced us to extend our range with other products. This prompted the development of new models of gloves and belts, which would fulfil these people’s requirements and which were not available on the market. Consequently, we began to focus more on gloves, belts and other fitness training equipment. The production of sportswear was gradually scaled down and it finished completely in 2002.
Our customers consist of top-level body builders and fitness enthusiasts as well as ordinary users. In order for us to be able to offer them more than just simple protection for the hands, back and other parts of the body while exercising, we started cooperating with physiotherapists and industrial designers as we launched the development of new products. Designs for new models of gloves and belts were created. Naturally, it was necessary to look for new materials and technologies for their production. This primarily involved finding a leather that could be washed and fabric which is cooling and quick-drying. It also involved sourcing top-quality Velcro fasteners, labels, etc. A crucial factor at this stage was the commencement of cooperation with the Korean firm VENTEX, which produces top-class fabrics and whose range also includes the Healtha+ cooling and quick-dry fabric, which we were the first in the world to use for our new gloves. We began with the development of completely new, innovative products, which had been lacking on the market up to now and this became our priority. We are still looking for new materials, technologies, ideas and ways to provide our customers with products that will offer them substantially more than that which has been available in this area until now. Today, we can justly say that we have become a leader in terms of applying “everything new” that emerges in this field of activity.
